Teams that rely on Linux in their daily workflows will have a seamless, integrated experience that matches what they’ve come to expect from our Windows and macOS clients. The new Linux version mirrors the look and feel of our existing clients, offering a consistent and familiar UI while supporting core features that make Devolutions Workspace a central part of your daily operations, such as Devolutions Authenticator for MFA accounts and as a single pane into the Devolutions product ecosystem.
Although this is just the beginning of our journey into Linux support, the initial version of the Devolutions Workspace Linux client is off to a solid start. The minimum supported OS is Ubuntu 24.04, and we’ve designed the installation process to be as simple as possible. The client will eventually be available in the Ubuntu Software Center, but for now, you can install it by downloading the .deb
package from the Devolutions Workspace product page and using one of three options:
.deb
file and choosing the install option..deb
file directly.package.deb
to the downloaded package name):dpkg -i package.deb
Keep in mind that the following dependencies are required for the installation to complete successfully:
libglib2.0-dev
libkeybinder-3.0-0
libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0
libsqlite3-dev
libcurl4t64
libayatana-appindicator3-1
libjpeg-turbo8
If you encounter any issues, ensure these packages are installed on your system.
The new Linux client unlocks smoother workflows and better collaboration for teams working in hybrid or Linux-first environments. IT professionals, system administrators, and DevOps professionals can enjoy a consistent Workspace experience across all major desktop operating systems, eliminating the need for workarounds, browser-based limitations, or switching devices.
Additionally, having native Linux support means Devolutions Workspace can now be more effectively integrated into secure, air-gapped, or customized development environments where Linux is the norm. With the unified dashboard, the new Linux client gives teams better visibility and control, regardless of platform.
While the Linux client is the latest highlight, it’s just one part of the larger picture. Devolutions Workspace continues to evolve as an all-in-one portal for managing access, launching sessions, and securely and efficiently collaborating across your team. Whether working in Devolutions Server (DVLS) or Devolutions Hub Business, Devolutions Workspace ties everything together with a centralized interface that simplifies access to your most-used tools.
