We’re excited to talk about a powerful Devolutions Server (DVLS) enhancement: the privileged session monitoring view. This feature provides administrators and security teams with a real-time overview of all active privileged sessions across their environment, offering increased visibility, control, and auditability.

The view enables you to monitor and manage active privileged sessions from a single, unified interface. This security-focused update is designed to give IT professionals the essential oversight needed without interrupting productivity.

  • Shadow a real-time session when routed and recorded through Devolutions Gateway
  • Stop active sessions in both DVLS and RDM
  • View live and previously recorded sessions

This feature isn’t limited to Devolutions Server alone. When Remote Desktop Manager (RDM) is paired with a DVLS data source, you can also manage sessions directly from RDM.

Why this matters for teams using Devolutions Server & Remote Desktop Manager

For organizations with rotating privileged access, remote contractors, or distributed infrastructure, being able to oversee active sessions is essential. The privileged sessions monitoring view enables IT teams to identify suspicious activity as it occurs, intervene when necessary, and ensure that sensitive environments are accessed appropriately.

This is particularly useful during incident response scenarios or when enforcing just-in-time access policies. For instance, administrators can immediately shadow the session to assess activity or end it with proper authorization if an unexpected user logs in to a sensitive system outside of regular hours.

Elevating Devolutions Server with better visibility

The privileged session monitoring view plays perfectly into DVLS's broader Privileged Access Management (PAM) feature set, which includes:

  • Session recording and playback for full auditing and accountability.
  • Role-based access control (RBAC) and approval workflows.
  • Secure remote access through a managed Devolutions Gateway integration.
  • Web-based and desktop access for maximum flexibility.

Whether you manage internal users, external vendors, or service accounts, Devolutions Server provides a robust platform for protecting critical systems and maintaining a strong security posture.
