Devolutions Hub Business FAQ
Use cases
What is Devolutions Hub Business?
Devolutions Hub Business is a secure, cloud-based data source designed to store, manage, and control access to credentials, secrets, and other sensitive information used by IT teams. It acts as a centralized repository that integrates seamlessly with Devolutions tools such as Remote Desktop Manager and Devolutions Workspace.
Who is Devolutions Hub Business for?
Devolutions Hub Business is built for IT teams, administrators, and managed service providers that need a secure, scalable, and cloud-hosted data source to support daily operational workflows and collaboration.
How is Devolutions Hub Business different from Devolutions Server?
Devolutions Hub Business is fully cloud-hosted and managed by Devolutions, offering fast deployment and reduced infrastructure overhead. Devolutions Server is a self-hosted solution designed for organizations that require full control over hosting, data location, and internal infrastructure. Both offer similar credential-management functionality.
Is Devolutions Hub Business a password manager?
Devolutions Hub Business goes beyond traditional password management. It is primarily a secure cloud data source that stores credentials, secrets, and sensitive data, and makes them available to connected tools and workflows, rather than being used as a standalone vault. Paired with the best-in-class Devolutions Remote Desktop Manager (RDM), Devolutions Hub Business can also launch browser-based remote sessions by leveraging Devolutions Gateway, supporting popular protocols like RDP, SSH, VNC and ARD. This feature simplifies access for external users and provides an efficient alternative for internal users who don't need RDM's full functionality.

Integrations and automation
How does Devolutions Hub Business access on-premises services?
The installable Devolutions Hub Services application facilitates access to on-premises resources for privileged access management. The service streamlines the end-user experience with single sign-on (SSO) authentication to eliminate the need for individual user account invitations.
Which tools integrate with Devolutions Hub Business?
Devolutions Hub Business integrates directly with Devolutions Workspace and Remote Desktop Manager, allowing credentials and secrets to be securely consumed within operational workflows without exposing sensitive data.
Does Devolutions Hub Business offer an API?
Due to the zero-knowledge client-side encryption model, Devolutions Hub Business does not currently provide a public API. Instead, it is designed to be consumed securely through Devolutions tools that handle access, automation, and governance. The Devolutions PowerShell module provides entry and management options.
Administration and reliability
How is data organized in Devolutions Hub Business?
Data is organized using vaults and folders, allowing administrators to structure credentials and secrets by team, role, project, or use case. Inheritance at the vault and folder levels simplifies management, and entries can be linked for streamlined updates.
Can multiple users access the same data?
Yes. Devolutions Hub Business supports concurrent access. There is no limit to the number of users who can view an entry. To prevent conflicts and maintain data integrity, editing access is restricted to one user at a time.
Is there a limit to how much data can be stored?
Devolutions Hub does not impose a limit on the number of credentials, folders, or sessions you can create. For optimal performance, we recommend limiting each vault to a maximum of 2,000 entries, and creating multiple vaults to logically separate sessions as needed.
Does Devolutions Hub Business support offline access?
Because Devolutions Hub is a cloud-based application, Internet access is necessary to access its web interface. Remote Desktop Manager and Devolutions Workspace both offer offline modes and can access offline caches of Devolutions Hub Business (offline access must be enabled in Hub's user management settings).
What support is available for Devolutions Hub Business?
Devolutions provides documentation and technical support to help organizations deploy, configure, and use Devolutions Hub Business effectively.
Standard technical support is included with all paid licenses. Extended and premium support is also available, offering phone support and dedicated customer success managers. See the details of our support plans.
