Hello Devolutions community and happy new year! We hope that the year brings you plenty of joy, success, and reasons to celebrate (such as coming across that rarest of creatures on the IT landscape: a server with a logical and sensible name, instead of one that makes you stare into the void and whisper “why me?” like SERVER2_FINAL_FINAL_REALLYFINAL).
In a moment, we’ll dive into the responses to our December poll question that asked: “What’s on your wish list for the Devolutions' Workforce Password Management package?”
About the Workforce Password Management Package
The Workforce Password Management package brings together three core solutions that make credential management simpler and more secure across teams and devices: Devolutions Workspace, Devolutions Hub, and Devolutions Server.
Built for business users and non-technical staff, the package helps organizations:
- Store and share passwords securely with the right controls,
- Enforce authentication policies and password rules consistently,
- Connect with single sign-on and work smoothly across multiple platforms.
The impact is less password fatigue and more secure sign-ins, yet without creating extra work for IT.
The responses
There were many great responses to our December poll question. However, one wish in particular received the most votes: Adding passkey support for the browser extension and mobile apps.
This sentiment is not surprising, given that passkeys offer several significant advantages vs. conventional passwords, including:
- Phishing-resistant
- Stronger security due to unique cryptographic keys per site, not reusable secrets
- Stops credential reuse attacks across multiple services
Plus, end-users are happy to embrace passkeys because it means faster sign-ins and less password fatigue.
Here are the other additions and enhancements that community members want to see:
- Password generator/randomizer that prevents reusing old passwords
- Account/password breach checking
- Unified security posture dashboard (risky behavior, weak creds, unused accounts, anomalies; exec + audit friendly)
- Better browser integration (smoother experience)
- Faster desktop access (tray icon/desktop widget for favorites/vaults)
- Admin elevation requests for end-users
- Central, easy, secure shared access to departmental passwords
- Tighter Remote Desktop Manager integration
- Support/controls for inconsistent environments + password-strength guidelines
It’s all good
We also wanted to highlight that several community members said that they didn’t have any wishes because they’re happy with the Workforce Management Package as it is. We are delighted to hear this! Making your day-to-day work experience easier, faster, and more secure is what matters to us.
An update on Santa Cloud
As promised, we shared all of the Workforce Management Package wishes with our pal Santa Cloud, who is Santa Claus’s geeky cousin in charge of giving cool tech to good IT pros around the world.
Well, good ol' Serverless St. Nick (as he likes to be called) had a nice chat with our Development Team over some pizza and beer (they prefer that over milk and cookies), and they’re taking a close look at making some of the wishes come true in 2026 — especially the popular request to add more passkey support.
Stay tuned!
