We are only about a quarter of the way through 2023, and already there is a good chance that Merriam-Webster’s “word of the year” won’t actually be a word, but rather an acronym: AI.

For April’s poll question, we want to know: What AI-related projects are you planning for this or next year?

Here are a few of many possibilities:

  • Increasing efficiency through process automation

  • Strengthening IT security and cybersecurity

  • Improving the speed or consistency of service

  • Using customer insights to inform decision-making

  • Discovering opportunities for new products and services

    • Optimizing supply chain operations
    • Improving quality control and quality assurance

What if you aren’t planning any AI-related projects this year or next year? Then please share the reason(s) why. For example, you may not have the budget, you may be concerned about the complexity, decision-makers might not be sold on the benefits of AI, etc.

Also, whether you are or aren’t planning on AI projects, please share your opinion on how you see AI developing in the next few years — positive, negative, or perhaps both. What do you think more people need to understand about AI? What opportunities excite you, and what risks worry you? Tell the community what you think!
